RIS and PACS connectivity for imaging and radiology centres

Orders, worklists, accessioning, reporting and results delivery, connected to the PACS you already run.

A study attaches only when it matches
Accession
the order's accession number
Patient

Facility

All three match
Attached to the order and ready to read in a single-study viewer session.
Anything else

What gets in the way

Most imaging problems are workflow problems: a study that lands on the wrong patient, a radiologist switching between two systems, a report that is late or unsigned. They show up at the connection between the RIS and the PACS.

Ventrecs Imaging keeps the order, the study and the report on one record. It works with your existing PACS: it connects to it, and does not replace it.

Typical challenges
  • Studies landing on the wrong patient
  • Radiologists switching between RIS and PACS
  • Slow, unsigned or untracked reports
  • No log of which studies were matched and which were held

Who sees what

Referring clinician

Orders from the record. Receives the signed report and critical-result routing.

Technologist

Works the worklist and accessions the study. Modality worklist is scoped per modality.

Radiologist

Opens the study from the order, reads it in a viewer session scoped to that study, and signs the report.

Manager

Sees the study sync log, the quarantine queue and turnaround.

How Ventrecs helps

Orders, worklists and accessioning

The study starts as an order with an accession, not as an image waiting for an owner.

  • Imaging orders from the patient record
  • Worklists and accessioning
  • Scheduling inside the same record

Study reconciliation

A study attaches to an order only when it matches.

  • Study-to-order matching on accession, patient and facility
  • Mismatched studies quarantined for review, not attached
  • A sync log of every study that arrived

Reading from the order

Radiologists open the study from the order, not from a separate tab.

  • DICOMweb sync with an Orthanc PACS, other PACS scoped per project
  • Each viewer session scoped to one study
  • Signed imaging reports and critical-result routing

ECG waveforms

The 12-lead trace opens from the waveform record, for the same patient, on the same screen.

  • PR, QRS, QT and QTc intervals with axes
  • Amplitude, time scale, zoom and pan
  • Clinician interpretation next to the device reading

Delivery to referrers

The signed report goes back to whoever ordered it.

  • Result delivery to referring doctors
  • Turnaround visible on the operations dashboard
  • Reports tied to the order and the patient

Integrations commonly required

  • PACS over DICOMweb
  • Modality worklist
  • Referrer result delivery

Each connection is scoped, tested and supported per project. Status is agreed with you before go-live. How integrations are delivered →

Questions we are asked

Do we have to replace our PACS?

No. Ventrecs connects to the PACS you run. The reference connection is an Orthanc PACS over DICOMweb; other PACS vendors are scoped per project.

How does Ventrecs avoid studies on the wrong patient?

A study attaches to an order only when its accession, patient and facility all match. Anything else is quarantined for review.

Can radiologists read from inside the order?

Yes. A viewer session opens from the imaging order and is scoped to that one study.

Is the modality worklist supported?

Modality worklist (DICOM MWL) is part of the integration scope for imaging, agreed and tested per modality during implementation.
